The conference will be comprised of three distinct programs:

  • Saturday, September 19th

    • Family Conference for parents and guardians

    • Friends and Fun Club for individuals with PWS of all ages and their siblings

Just a quick heads up—since this is our first time using Zeffy as our conference registration platform, we wanted to flag something you’ll see at checkout. We’ve chosen to use Zeffy because it allows us to accept payments without platform fees, which helps ensure that more of your money goes directly toward supporting the event, OPWSA, and FPWR Canada.

Zeffy adds a suggested contribution to support their platform, which appears as an extra donation by default. If you’d prefer not to include this, you can simply select "Other" from the dropdown menu, and adjust the amount to $0 (or any amount you choose) before completing your payment.

It’s completely optional—we just didn’t want it to catch anyone off guard.

Professional Providers Day

Following the success of last year’s event, the team from Latham Centers will return to build on the learning and conversations that began at our inaugural Professional Providers Day, while also welcoming those joining us for the first time. Together, participants will explore meaningful ways to support individuals with PWS, their families, and communities through thoughtful discussion and practical insight.

The day will include opportunities to work through real-world behavioural scenarios, share experiences with peers, and develop actionable strategies. Professional providers will also gain practical approaches for strengthening collaboration with parents and caregivers.

Additional presentations will feature Lynn Garrick (Medical/Research Coordinator, PWSA | USA), who will speak about health considerations and aging, and Kim Tula (Senior Family Support Counselor and Trainer, PWSA | USA), who will present on best practices for nutrition and exercise.

Join us for a day dedicated to collaboration, learning, and shared inspiration as we continue building a stronger community of professionals supporting individuals with PWS.

Please note that our Friends and Fun Club will only be running on Saturday, September 19th.

The Professional Providers Day is for agency staff, educators, and other professionals that support individuals with PWS. If you are a parent, please register for our Family Conference.

Friends & Fun Club

The Friends and Fun Club is a program for individuals with PWS of all ages and their siblings that will run alongside the Family Conference. The Kingbridge Centre has great amenities for our Friends and Fun Club, including a gymnasium, pool, walking track, walking trails (weather permitting), movie theatre, etc. Participants in the Friends and Fun Club will be able to engage in these activities as well as arts and crafts, puzzles, etc.

Did you know that SSAH or Passport funding can be used to cover the cost of admission for individuals with PWS into the Friends and Fun Club since it is considered respite? We can provide you with a receipt so that you can claim the expense.

Please note that for kids under the age of 6, it is expected that families provide their own volunteer (parent, grandparent, friend, etc.) to look after their child in the Friends and Fun Club. Every participant in the Friends and Fun Club must register (regardless of whether you are providing your own volunteer). You do not need to pay for the volunteer, but you will be asked to include the volunteer's information as part of the registration form.
