OPSWA is looking for a creative and enthusiastic copywriter to assist in the re-launch of our website. This will be a four month, part-time contract and is an excellent opportunity to assist a non-profit reach their audience in a meaningful way.
Responsibilities
Research available information on Prader-Willi Syndrome, through online searches, existing OPWSA information, interviews with subject matter experts, and in-person meetings
Collaborate with the Executive Director and website development team to validate the proposed web content strategy and content, and to support the development of web content, templates and related material
Write original copy and edit existing content for a range of educational and promotional communications materials, with a focus on material for the new website and related digital platforms
Participate in website development reviews
Revise copy based on feedback/direction from the website team, Executive Director, Board of Directors, and external reviewers
Skills and Experience
University or college degree in Journalism, Public Relations or Communications preferred, or a student enrolled in one of those previously mentioned programs
A minimum of two years related copywriting experience, proven experience with web and digital content development
Strong and versatile writing skills and ability to distill complex topics into digestible material
Ability to write and edit quickly and concisely to meet tight deadlines
Strong project management skills are an asset
Experience in independent researching and fact-checking
Demonstrated proficiency working with standard office software, Google Suite
Experience working with nonprofits preferred
